@laifalbert The only thing I’m a ‘fanboy’ of is quality gaming. Though motion controls have their place, they’re far from a developed technology.
Take Wii Sports bowling: The perfect app for the waggle wand. But the thing had that well-known quirk where it seemed like the alley leaned to the left (if I remember correctly).
As for using the tech outside of these types of games, or as a mere gimmicky second controller option, the control isn’t tight enough for the nuances of games like tennis.
@Sablicious
I like your choice of words. “no matter how ‘accurate’ they might seem to you”. You make it seem like the controls are not accurate at all. The infrared tracking and tilt sensors are nearly 1:1. The accelerometers can distinguish between the 4 cardinal directions and foward/backward motion nearly perfectly. With the right programming, the controls can enhance gameplay to make it faster, more fun/stimulating, and more intuitive. See: The Conduit
The Godfather: Blackhand Edition.
@Sablicious
And again, you say it’s casual and gimmicky without giving a reason. You are calling me a fanboy, yet you seem to be the one making groundless insults to a piece of hardware. I’m simply trying to convince you that some people, myself included, may enjoy playing with it. I’m not bashing you or saying you have to like the Wii remote; therefore, I’m not a fanboy – you are.
@laifalbert Arguing the Wiimote is a valid control mechanic beyond its casual and gimmicky nature, is either being blatantly sarcastic or just plain Ninty fanboyish.
Very Good !

I played a demo of this at the Cincinnati Masters 2009. Kind of fun, but I prefer the real thing.

I’m not being sarcastic, I enjoy a good argument.
@laifalbert Sarcasm is not your forte. >_>
